Fairy Creek Photo Adventure: Field Shoot
Join in for a day of photographic play in the foothills on the east slope of the Bridger Mountains. Expand your creative vision in a breathtaking private location. You'll shoot alongside instructor Jon Shaver, local photographer and host Bob Sisk, F-11 Photo store owner Doug Bundren and Tamron Rep John Carson. Practice the techniques you learned from Jon in Macro Basics; then, take on some new challenges with his help like learning how to photograph hummingbirds.
Delve into the famous Tamron lens trunks at the workshop and try something new from the huge selection of lenses flown in for your use. Learn some simple lighting tricks using handy reflectors and diffusers--provided for the day--to give your images 'WOW!' status. Come prepared for sun, rain, hail, snow, biting bugs, grumpy grizzlies, wailing wolves, (wishful thinking about the latter two), and anything else that might come along.
Meet at F-11 Photographic Supplies at 5:00 a.m. Saturday morning to caravan to the location, about 30 miles from Bozeman through Bridger Canyon on Highway 86. Travel is on your own and car pooling is encouraged. The field session runs until about 11 a.m., followed by a critique of the day's work. Bring enough water and snacks to make sure that you make it through the workshop conclusion, typically around 1 p.m.
This class can include Friday's Macro Basics workshop for a combined price of $169.99.
