Head-Shaving Event for St. Baldrick’s Foundation

The St. Baldrick’s Foundation, a volunteer-powered organization dedicated to raising money for children's cancer research, will host one of its signature head-shaving events at Hair Shop of Big Sky on April 6th from 2-4 pm where local men, women, boys and girls will shave their heads in solidarity with kids with cancer and raise money for lifesaving research.

Every 3 minutes, a child is diagnosed with cancer; one in five won’t survive, and those who do often suffer long-term effects from treatments too harsh for their developing bodies. Kids are special, and at St. Baldrick’s we treat them that way. From its beginnings, St. Baldrick’s has believed that kids deserve the chance to be kids – fun-loving, carefree, refreshingly honest, and always a little goofy – and deserve the chance at a future. That’s why donations raised at events like this have made it possible for St. Baldrick’s to fund more than $178 million to support the development of childhood cancer treatments that are as unique as every kid.

“The small, yet big-hearted community of Big Sky is ready to show the kids of St. Baldrick’s, kids unfairly suffering from cancer, solidarity and financial support for cancer research,” said local volunteer organizer, Sean Lucy. “Queen Jean and I know there will be a line out the door of willing locals ready to let their heads breathe. Me, I’ve been growing my hair extra long for this event!”

The Big Sky head-shaving event will be hosted at Hair Shop of Big Sky, 115 Aspen Dr., Unit 1, on April 6th from 2-4 pm. Certified shavers will be on hand to clear away that rat’s nest and help you start Spring with a clean slate. For those not quite ready to bare it all, individuals and businesses can financially support the organization that day with a donation or through the Big Sky Event’s page on StBaldricks.org.
