Deanna Beaumont: “The Personal Challenges, Sacrifices & Rewards of International Humanitarian Work"

The Jake Jabs College of Business & Entrepreneurship will host speaker Deanna Beaumont on November 20th in Reid Hall. Beaumont has 10 years’ experience in international humanitarian work. In her presentation, Beaumont will share her challenges, sacrifices and rewards from her time abroad working with organizations such as Doctors Without Borders, the World Food Program, UNICEF, MERLIN and RedR. She has been on the ground in high risk, large scale disasters in a variety of countries and regions including Kashmir, Pakistan, South Sudan, Uganda, Myanmar, Thailand and Nepal. Most recently she was a first responder to the April 2015 Nepal earthquake. She is currently in the process of establishing a consulting business specializing in organizational learning for international aid organizations. A native of Australia, Beaumont has a Masters in Humanitarian Logistics & Management from the University of Lugano in Switzerland. This presentation is free and open to the public and is in conjunction with the MSU International Education Week.
