Fruition

Portland, OR’s own Fruition has had a busy summer including performances at Telluride Bluegrass, Bonnaroo, Wakarusa, Northwest String Summit and winning the Willamette Week’s Readers Poll for Best Alt Country Act. But despite the accolade, the band is hard to contain in just one genre. Relix Magazine described them as landing “Somewhere between The Band and a string band,” and the Lot Scene called their performance at Telluride “Folk Rock at its finest.”

August may be approaching quickly, but their summer adventures aren’t quite over, with their first ever performance at Red Rocks Amphitheatre (opening for Greensky Bluegrass and Yonder Mountain String Band) and visits to festivals like Summer Meltdown, and Strawberry Music Festival still on the books.  After a few weeks off to recharge their batteries, the band will embark on a headline tour of the U.S. beginning September 24th.

This fall, the quintet will make stops in a few markets they have never visited before, and return to several cities that have already begun warming up to what Rollingstone.com called “Raucous originals filled with heartfelt lyrics and stadium-worthy energy.” They’ll reteam for shows along the way with old friends like ALO, Jeff Austin Band, and Leftover Salmon.  To cap off October, the band will headline a new venue in their hometown of Portland, Oregon.  After selling out their last show at the 800 seat Wonder Ballroom, the band moves to the newly opened 850 seat Revolution Hall on Halloween.  The year wraps up with an appearance at Strings & Sol, a destination festival in Mexico that includes Railroad Earth, Yonder Mountain Stringband, Greensky Bluegrass and more.

The band has completed recording for their new album, and will be announcing release plans for new material later this year. . The album was recorded during several weeks in Portland’s Cloud City Studio and features new songs from Jay Cobb Anderson, Mimi Naja and Kellen Asebroek.
