IndepenDANCE Community Dance Project
IndepenDANCE Community Dance Project is thrilled to once again present their annual performance at the beautiful Ellen Theatre in downtown Bozeman.
“Spectrum”, the culmination of the project’s seventh season, will begin with live music by Laney Lou and the Bird Dogs at 6:30 pm. Their upbeat and energetic folk music consists of traditional bluegrass tunes paired with original songs and covers. Following the band, IndepenDANCE will take the stage at 7:00 pm, showcasing the work of 18 Bozeman-area choreographers and featuring over 85 performers, including Ryan Lawrence Flynn (currently of Verge Theater fame) as the emcee for the evening.
Attendees will enjoy contemporary dance, ballet, tap, traditional Irish dancing, aerial dance, and much more! IndepenDANCE is an entirely volunteer-run group that provides opportunities and support for adults who are dancers and choreographers of all backgrounds and abilities. Together, they connect, create, and perform all forms of dance. Throughout their seven years, the group has excelled in building a platform not only enjoyed by their participants, but also by community members who attend their annual show and additional Bozeman performances during the year.
IndepenDANCE thrives because people believe in the idea and continue to join in the creative process. The non-profit project is sustained by participant help, generous support from local businesses and individual sponsorships, and assistance from Montana Arts and the Montana Arts Council.
