DTB’s sound comes from a collective happy place found in the music written in rural America, or as it’s more popularly known: Roots. Roots music was written primarily by poor people living off what they could grow from the land, and it displays all the grittiness, rust and realism of the er from which it was conceived. Roots music doesn’t fit in to any single roots genre, so DTB created their own banner: “Guerilla Roots.”  Christy Hay’s voice and melody melts hearts with gritty, melancholy vulnerability. Her songwriting compares to the best of Lucinda Williams and Bruce Springsteen.
