Dead Winter Carpenters

Hailing from the shores of North Lake Tahoe, CA, Dead Winter Carpenters is a rollicking, high-energy, alt-country-roots-infused outfit that represents everything the American west stands for. With an unbridled spirit, and an authentic approach to the art of songwriting, this five-piece rock band captures the freedom of the road with the kind of energy that is made of legends.

Defying musical boundaries, DWC blends elements of rock’n’roll, folk, roots, country, ragtime, blues, and reggae music with choice influences ranging from throughout rock history and the traditional fiddle tunes of earlier times. This combination of songwriting and dynamic musicianship gets the hips shakin’ and feet dancin’, epitomizing what a great live music experience is all about.

Dead Winter Carpenters; the five-piece Alt-Country / roots rock band has climbed from bar band to nationally touring act with little hesitation. Since the band’s inception in March of 2010, DWC has logged several appearances at some of the nation’s top boutique festivals to include High Sierra Music Festival, Strawberry Music Festival, WinterWonderGrass, Yonder Mountain String Band’s Harvest Festival and Northwest String Summit, along with notching more than just a couple sold- out shows on their collective bedpost. Alongside of unprecedented multiple sell out shows in their hometown, DWC has sold out rooms in markets throughout the west coast.

The band combines five parts of equal creative force including Jenni Charles (fiddle/vocals), Jesse Dunn (guitar/vocals), Dave Lockhart (upright bass/vocals), Brian Daines (guitar/vocals), and Brian Huston (drums/vocals) for what has become a recognizable name on the independent music circuit, due in part to their rancorous live performances and ravenous fan base.

“With one listen to Dead Winter Carpenters’ “Easy Sleep,” you’ll get a strong sense of where this California band is coming from.” – CMT Edge

“Judging from its penchant for California country, North Lake Tahoe band Dead Winter Carpenters sounds like it has its finger on the quickening pulse of a “high-mountain-town vibe.” – San Francisco Chronicle

“Effortless five-part harmonies, capped off by the sweet, soft voice of Charles, bring a surprising smoothness to the tone of the entire EP. Each track tells a story, just as each instrument and voice coalesces into the band’s rich and textured sound.” – No Depression review – Posted by Thandiwe Ogbonna
