Buck Buchanan
Raised north of Boise, Idaho, on a small cattle ranch, Buck Buchanan attributes his love for music to his mother, who helped to organize hootenannies that would last until early morning hours. Buck moved to West Yellowstone, Montana, in 1976, to form a band with former Twang guitarist Jim Lewis. In 1979 he moved to Bozeman to attend Montana State University. Graduating in 1985 with a degree in geology and a teachers certificate. He taught science at Belgrade Middle School in Belgrade, Montana, for 22 years, finally getting out of the eighth grade in 2007. Enjoying their home in nearby Manhattan Carol his wife, shares in his musical interests. In 1998, Buck and founding drummer Johnny Regan organized www.Twang, so they could play original, danceable tunes with longtime friends and area musical legends.
