The Experience and Science of Mental Illness
“The Experience and Science of Mental Illness,” set at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28, in the Crawford Theater of Bozeman’s Emerson Cultural Center will feature Jason DeShaw of Plentywood, a nationally acclaimed country western singer/songwriter/guitarist who struggles with bipolar disorder, who will share his story of recovery and songs of hope. Dr. Matt Byerly, a psychiatrist and researcher at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center will also lecture about recent advances in mental health research in the event that is sponsored in part by the Center for Mental Health Research and Recovery at Montana State University.
