Play: A Christmas Carol
Chase away the holiday humbug with A Christmas Carol, opening Friday, December 5th at The Ellen Theatre. Presented by Montana TheatreWorks, producers of Oklahoma!, White Christmas and Guys and Dolls, the timeless tale of the Cratchits, Tiny Tim and the haunting of a misguided miser is the perfect gift for the entire family. Twelve performances are slated, so there’s plenty of opportunity to celebrate the season with this Charles Dickens classic.
A cast of 30 magically transforms The Ellen into the streets of London, with music and dance and visits by the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future in this award-winning adaptation by Richard Hellesen, music and lyrics by David De Berry. Local favorite and stage veteran Joel Jahnke adds his talents as the cantankerous Ebenezer Scrooge.
A Christmas Carol runs Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays for three weeks with three additional performances on Thursday, December 18th, Monday December 22nd and Tuesday, December 23rd. Show time is 7:30 PM for all performances, with the exception of Sundays, which have a 3 PM start. Audience members are welcome to partake in holiday goodies, wine, beer and other refreshments in The Ellen lobby starting one hour before curtain.
Tickets for A Christmas Carol are priced at $19.75 for adults, $17 for seniors (55+) and $12.50 for children 12 and under. All Adult and Senior tickets for Family Discount Day on Sunday, December 7th are only $14.00. That’s a deal that even Scrooge himself would appreciate. Reserved seats may be purchased online at www.theellentheatre.com. A $1.00 Ellen Restoration Fee is added to each ticket.
Every year The Ellen holiday show is a sell-out, so it is suggested to make your reservations early. For more information, or to purchase tickets by phone, please call The Ellen box office at 585-5885.
