The Bozeman Film Society presents a special Halloween-time screening of the 1922 classic, silent horror film "Nosferatu, A Symphony of Horror" with live, original soundtrack written and performed by Missoula duo Next Door Prison Hotel. One of the silent era's most influential masterpieces, Nosferatu's eerie, gothic feel -- and a chilling performance from Max Shrek as the vampire -- set the template for the horror films that followed.Musicians John Sporman and Travis Yost will bring the quintessential Dracula film to life with their modern, atmospheric score. Sporman will be playing keyboards, cello, guitar and saw, along with a well-stocked board of effects he uses to manipulate his playing. Travis Yost, meanwhile, will be switching between guitar, bass and drums during the 85-minute score. The evening will be opened with an introduction by MSU German Studies Professor Patricia Simpson. Silent films were meant to be enjoyed with live music, so don't miss this unique showing of the beautifully, creepy "Nosferatu" on the big screen on Wednesday, October 29th!
