Cassandra O’Connor and Tracy Hui are rambling acoustic folk duo from Oakland, California, playing Americana originals and traditional songs. The “Birds” started traveling the US without any set plans and hardly any material together. “In a time where pessimism is slowly enveloping our generation, we felt we had no other choice than to believe in the goodness of others and throw all caution to the wind.” Cass was in the Peace Corps in Paraguay and Tracy was involved in Occupy Oakland. Both were energized yet traumatized by their experiences.
