Big Sky Classical Music Festival: Big Sky Festival Orchestra
Join us as we close our festival with the second performance of the Big Sky Festival Orchestra, with Maestro Peter Bay conducting, performing selections from Beethoven and Mozart. The orchestra features the best players from across Montana, assembled by Music Director Eric Funk and performing together for the first time, as well as soloists Angella Ahn and David Wallace! This will truly be a magical evening under the Big Sky! This performance is free and open to the public. The music starts at 6 p.m. The evening is sponsored by Bozeman Deaconess Health Services.

Peter Bayhas been Music Director of the Austin Symphony Orchestra since 1998 and the Hot Springs Music Festival in Arkansas since 2011.
His guest appearances include the National, Chicago, St. Louis, Houston, Dallas, Baltimore, New Mexico, New Jersey, North Carolina, Syracuse, Virginia, West Virginia, Colorado, Hawaii, Jacksonville, Richmond, Alabama, Arkansas, Canton, Eugene, Fort Worth, Springfield, Bochum (Germany), Carinthian (Austria), Lithuanian National, and Ecuador National Symphonies, the Minnesota and Algarve (Portugal) Orchestras, the Louisiana, Buffalo, Rhode Island, Tulsa, Fort Wayne and Reno Philharmonics, the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, the Eastman (Argento's Postcard from Morocco) and Aspen (Moore's The Ballad of Baby Doe) Opera Theaters, and the Theater Chamber Players of the Kennedy Center. Summer music festival appearances have included Aspen (CO), Music in the Mountains (CO), Grant Park and Ravinia (IL), Round Top (TX), OK Mozart (OK) and Skaneateles (NY).
Peter is the primary conductor for Ballet Austin. For Austin Lyric Opera he conducted A Streetcar Named Desire, La Traviata, Turandot, and The Marriage of Figaro.
Mr. Bay was music director of the Annapolis Symphony, Erie Philharmonic, Peter Britt Festival Orchestra, and Breckenridge Music Festival, and held positions with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, and Richmond Symphony.
Peter Bay is a native of Washington, DC and received degrees from the University of Maryland and Peabody Institute of Music.
Orchestra will begin at 6 p.m. No opening ensemble on Sunday. Again, this performance is free!
