The Lil' Smokies and Satsang

Smokies exploded into the acoustic/bluegrass scene back in the winter of 2009 and haven't shown any signs of fatigue since. The Lil' Smokies have shared the stage with heavyweights like, Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Keller Williams, Greensky Bluegrass, The Emmit-Nershi Band and dozens of others. Winning the 2013 Northwest String Summit Band Competition has proven that The Lil' Smokies have no problem captivating large audiences. With a unique blend of traditional bluegrass, newgrass, unique original compositions and sheer raw energy, The Lil' Smokies weave seamlessly through genres, leaving something for everyone. This six-piece bluegrass ensemble features, Pete Barrett (guitar), Andy Dunnigan (dobro), Scott Parker (upright bass), Matt Cornette (banjo), Cameron Wilson (mandolin), and Jesse Brown (fiddle).

Satsang is an Acoustic Roots/Reggae duo from Southwestern Montana made up of David Cleaves(Mandolin) and Drew McManus(Guitar/Vocals). Blending world conscious lyrics with the belief that Roots Music was meant to be played on Roots Instruments. The lyrics come from Drew McManus and are rooted in Social and Environmental Activism and are used as a mission statement for change and activation. Touching on everything from the Justice System and Land Rights, to Environmental Encroachment by Big Oil. The powerful lyrics and rhythm guitar are met with mind bending harmonies from David Cleaves' Mandolin. David is originally from the Boston area and has been touring and playing festivals with numerous bands including Hot Day at the Zoo and Rootstand for over ten years. The live show is everything that the band name suggests: A gathering of people to assimilate and share their truths. The Reggae Rhythms put forth by the band keep everyone on their feet, and the lyrics leave them craving active and immediate change.
