As the summer officially approaches, Big Sky Resort opens more activities. Lone Peak Expedition: Tram to the Top will open for its second season, Friday, June 21, 2013 at Big Sky Resort. Combining the Swift Current chairlift ride and safari style truck journey to the base of the Lone Peak Tram, guests travel via aerial tram to the top of Lone Mountain at 11,166 feet experiencing 360-degree views of majestic mountain terrain spanning three states and two national parks.

“This is truly a unique adventure with a scenic chairlift ride, followed by a rugged terrain ride with really fun guides, and the tram to the top overlooking miles of peaks and valleys. It’s just beautiful.” Sheila Chapman, Public Relations Manager for Big Sky Resort

The popularity of these tours last year prompted Big Sky Resort to purchase an additional expedition vehicle accommodating the demand of this one of a kind activity and will run up to 17 tours a day. Tours last between 2-2 1⁄2 hours with reservations recommended and a maximum of 10 people per tour. Guests should be prepared for all weather conditions (bring layers), wear appropriate light hiking shoes (no sandals), and bring a camera. Binoculars are available for use at the top of the tram.
