Junior Entrepreneurs Sought

Saturday Oct. 20th, 2012

Junior Achievement of Montana (JA) wants to know who your favorite Junior Entrepreneur is: the kid with the lemonade stand, the lawn mower, or music teacher? Who do you know who started a business when they were 18 or younger? There is no minimum age – we just want to know what our local young entrepreneurs are up to. Self nominations are accepted.

Nominations can be found at www.jamontana.org, and must be received by 5pm on November 5th. A selection of the nominees will be showcased on November 14th, in advance of the Sounds of Comfort concert. Please call 582-1828 or email jamontana@bridgeband.com if you would like more information.

The Junior Entrepreneur Showcase will be held November 14th, 5:30pm at the Best Western GranTree Inn, to be followed by the Sounds of Comfort concert at 7pm. The showcase is free; the concert tickets are $10 and available at the Bozeman School District music office or Junior Achievement. Please call 582-1828 for more information.

About Junior Achievement of Montana

The mission of Junior Achievement of Montana is to inspire and prepare young people to
succeed in a global economy. In simple terms, we teach students financial literacy, business
basics, entrepreneurship and career preparedness while connecting them with role models
from their community.

In 1994 Junior Achievement of Montana, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit educational
organization, was formed to bring JA economic education programs to Southwest
Montana. Since then the program has grown from serving four classrooms to a goal
of 100 in Bozeman, Belgrade, Livingston and the surrounding rural schools. An
expansion has also added 45 classrooms in Billings. Volunteers from the local business
and education community are matched with classrooms to serve as role models and share
their expertise.

This will be the first year for the Junior Entrepreneur Showcase, and the second year of
the Sounds of Comfort concert, held in conjunction with the annual Festival of Trees.
The concert is a joint fundraiser for Junior Acheivement, Notes of Comfort, and Liberty
Place.
