Chris England

Chris England and his family moved back to the Bozeman area about a year ago. He had lived in the desert southwest in southern Nevada for the last 10 years. It was in Nevada that he got his first digital camera about seven years ago and has enjoyed the freedom that digital provides ever since. While living in Nevada Chris made many trips to photograph the national parks in Utah in places like Zion and Bryce and many more unknown and yet just as beautiful areas. In southern Nevada there are also many beautiful areas like Red Rock Canyon west of Las Vegas and Valley of Fire state park. Now that he is back in Montana he is looking forward to photographing Yellowstone and the mountains and rivers in the southwest part of this great state.

Chris is also a graphic designer, so the camera was a very natural tool to add to his skill set. Using Photoshop for a living and viewing, processing and organizing photos is a lot of fun for him. “I am always trying to learn new techniques in Photoshop and with the digital camera. Having an understanding of composition and design is also something that I believe is very important to a good photograph.  I enjoy this challenge and work to add dimension, depth and interest with different compositional techniques.” says Chris.

“I enjoy the outdoors and bring my camera on most occasions. I also make trips to areas that I am interested in and will scout out an area the day before and find interesting foreground/ background and come back the next  morning to catch the sunrise and see what other weather conditions that  I might find. For me photography is about exploring and discovering new ways to look at our natural world and capture that one moment that seems to have some power and mystery to it.”
