VOICE Center and Students Against Sexual Assault are bringing “The Vagina Monologues”

Tuesday Jan. 17th, 2012

It’s a topic that’s often considered taboo and can make grown women and men uncomfortable.  But it can also be funny, insightful, and empowering.  And that’s precisely why the VOICE Center and Students Against Sexual Assault are bringing “The Vagina Monologues” to Bozeman this February.

Based on interviews Eve Ensler conducted with 200 women about their views of sex, relationships, and violence, the play, which was first introduced in 1996, delves into the mystery, humor, pain, wisdom, outrage, and excitement surrounding their life experiences. While the content is personal, powerful, hilarious, and at times difficult, it is intended to be enlightening.

Two benefit productions of “The Vagina Monologues” are scheduled for this month at the MSU Procrastinator Theater.  As in the past, it will be a community production involving local women.  All proceeds will benefit the MSU VOICE Center as well as the student groups Students Against Sexual Assault and Men Stopping Rape.
