Computer Class

Bozeman Public Library is offering computer classes. These classes are set to teach you some very basic computer skills. All classes will take place in the Cottonwood Room at 3pm on Tuesday afternoons. Please bring your own laptop if you have one or you may borrow a laptop for the class from the library vending machine located on the second floor.

  1.  January 2: Introduction to computers: this class will introduce you to your first computer. We’ll talk about some basic functions of computers, the components, how to use the mouse, and log on. If you are already familiar with computers then this class is not for you.
  2.  January 9: Internet Browsing and Email. In this class we’ll log on to the computer, talk about the cloud and set up an email account. We’ll talk about some basic safety while online as well.
  3.  January 23: Microsoft Word: Word is a common tool for creating written documents. We’ll get you into word, talk about the various processes and functions, printing, formatting and editing the document as well as saving it, sharing and uploading.
  4.  January 30: Navigating the Library and Further Resources: The content of this class might vary each month depending on the questions asked by attendees in the previous classes of that month but we’ll focus on using the library website, looking for books, placing holds, accessing online resources including further courses for learning how to use computer programs.

Please note: These classes are structured around a class setting. Help with devices or specific problems may not be available.
