Cultures Colliding: Bozeman's Early Diversity

Tour Bozeman's North Side to learn about the diverse cultural groups that composed Bozeman's early population.

Lured by the prospect of gold and new opportunities, people from across our fledgling nation and abroad came into the Gallatin Valley in the 19th century to settle and start new lives. As we will learn touring Bozeman’s North Side streets, our city’s earliest population was composed of many diverse cultural groups, that sometimes made for uneasy neighbors. But it’s this ethnic mosaic and the rich stories of these early settlers who helped shape the Bozeman we know today.
