BFS Films Mix Sweet & Creepy this Halloween!
Bozeman Film Society continues its 40th season of acclaimed independent films at the Ellen Theatre on Wednesday, October 31st with a special double-feature featuring Juliet, Naked and the 30th Anniversary digitally remastered version of Beetlejuice. At 6:45 pm, Juliet Naked offers a delightful blend of "Almost Famous" and "You've Got Mail." Annie (Rose Byrne) is stuck in a long-term relationship with Duncan (Chris O'Dowd) - an obsessive fan of obscure rocker Tucker Crowe (Ethan Hawke). When the acoustic demo of Tucker's hit record from 25 years ago surfaces, its release leads to a life-changing encounter with the elusive rocker himself. Kenneth Turan of the Los Angeles Times calls it "...a charming film of an engaging, adult nature about two very different people trying to press reset in their lives, it is comic, heartfelt and smart as they come - a rare combination these days." Based on the novel by Nick Hornby, Juliet, Naked is a comic account of life's second chances, elevated by standout work from a charming cast led by a well-matched Rose Byrne and Ethan Hawke. Rated R, the film runs 100 minutes. CC/DN. Tickets $9.25-$9.75 (plus fees) include admission to of Beetlejuice.
