Film: 'Life, Interrupted'

BFS welcomes Emmy Award-winning Bozeman filmmaker and two-time breast cancer survivor, Paula Mozen, to the Ellen Theatre for a screening of her new documentary, 'Life Interrupted.' Winner of Best Director at the 2018 Long Beach Indie International Film Festival, the film features powerful, intimate stories of three survivors (including the filmmaker herself) confronting a life-altering diagnosis and refusing to step down. These resilient women, of various ages, ethnic, geographic, socio-economic backgrounds and stages of illness, share their journeys as they cross into, and re-turn from, the world of Breast Cancer. They respond to their disease and the rebuilding of their lives with honesty, dignity, humor, and grace. Montana State University instructor Marilyn Guggenheim, Ph.D. writes; "With its masterful portrait of vulnerability and resilience, Life Interrupted will inspire cancer survivors and their loved ones for a long time to come.” October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so journey with us into the personal stories of three women warriors, each with a story as unique and heroic as they are. The Ellen lobby opens at 6:00 pm for a no-host social; doors open at 6:30 pm. A Q&A with director Paula Mozen follows the screening. Not rated, the film runs 65 minutes. Films now begin at 7:00 pm for the fall and winter season, and 40th Anniversary giveaways accompany each film! Reserved tickets are $9.25-$9.75 (plus fees), available online at www.theellentheatre.org, by calling 585-5885, or by visiting the Ellen Theatre box office.
