This 1971 American musical is an adaptation of the 1964 Broadway musical of the same name. The film centers on Tevye, the father of five daughters, and his attempts to maintain his Jewish religious and cultural traditions as the outside Russian influences encroach upon the lives of the residents of his town, Anatevka. Fiddler on the Roof won three Academy Awards and was nominated for several more, including Best Picture and Best Actor.
