First Snow: Aoide at Christmas
Aoide is gearing up for our annual winter performance!
First Snow: Aoide at Christmas will be held Friday, December 15th at 7:00 PM in Holy Rosary Parish and Saturday, December 16th at 8:00 PM in the Big Sky Chapel.
For this program we are thrilled to welcome six singers from Northwestern University's Bienen School of Music who will sing with Aoide on a diverse program of contemporary choral music including Taverner, Pärt, Ešenvalds, Pulitzer Prize-winning composers David Lang and Kevin Puts, and others. Contemporary works will be interspersed with 20th century pieces including Herbert Howells' O, pray for the peace of Jerusalem and Sergei Rachmaninov's celebrated Bogoroditse Devo.
We are suggesting a $10 donation for this performance, and a $20 donation will include a copy of our recently released CD, Heaven Full of Stars. We look forward to seeing you there!
