A Teen Climate Summit will be hosted at Montana State University on the morning of Friday, May 26. The event is open to high school-aged Montana students and will include presentations by MSU faculty and graduate students who are engaged in climate science research. It will also include opportunities for teens to engage in facilitated discussions about climate and environmental science.

The event is free, but pre-registration is required. Breakfast and lunch are included. Attendance is capped at 45.

The Teen Climate Summit is intended to inform, inspire and empower students by providing a forum for dialogue between teens, university researchers and community representatives, according to Sarah Hendrikx, program manager with MSU Extended University. Participants will have opportunities to discuss ideas or concerns, ask questions and talk about ways to participate in their community. Students will be encouraged to explore how their personal talents can positively impact the environment.

The event is sponsored by MSU Extended University, the Montana Institute on Ecosystems and Montana NSF EPSCoR with support from MSU Extension, the MSU Office of Sustainability and the Montana Water Center.
