Last Best Fest

A first annual city-wide arts festival, the Last Best Fest, will be held in Livingston, Montana September 5, 6, and 7, 2014. The festival represents a collaboration among non-profit arts organizations and will include events in all arts disciplines: theater, visual arts, literature, dance, and music. Festival-goers will have many options for involvement: from Shakespeare in the Park to master classes in oil painting to author readings. Our mission: The Last Best Fest is an arts event that enriches and promotes the cultural identity of Livingston [Montana] through community collaboration.

The first Last Best Fest Juried Art Exhibition & Sale is a regional juried art show and sale event which will be mounted at three locations in town: the Livingston Center for Art and Culture, the Lincoln School, and The Frame Garden Gallery. The juror, Mark Browning, is former director and curator of the Custer County Art & Heritage Center’s WaterWorks Gallery in Miles City. He is a National Watercolor Society artist in his own right, with numerous other fine art credentials. Cash awards will be given for 1st Places and People’s Choice, along with six non-cash Honorable Mention awards. The call for art is being made to include Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, North Dakota, Utah and Colorado.
