Big Sky Classical Music Festival: Angella Ahn and David Wallace

This year we will kick off the fourth annual Classical Music Festival with an indoor performance at the Warren Miller Performing Arts Center in Big Sky! Please join us for this intimate evening with solo recitals from Angella Ahn and David Wallace , along with Julie Gosswiller on piano. Tickets for this event will be $35/Premium and $25/General, with all reserved seats. Ticket on-sale date will be announced soon! This performance is graciously sponsored by Bozeman Audi.

Angella Ahn enjoys her success as the violinist for the Ahn Trio. Her trio, comprised of Angella and her two twin sisters, was born while all three studied at the Juilliard School of Music, and now tours the world, playing in such venues as New York's Lincoln Center, Vienna's Musikverein, Leipzig''s Gewandhaus, Argentina's Teatro Colon, and The Beijing Concert Hall. Angella and her trio have taken it as their mission to expand the piano trio repertoire, and have commissioned over 30 new works by composers including Pat Metheny, Mark O'Connor, Paul Schoenfield, Michael Nyman, Nikolai Kapustin, Kenji Bunch and many other visionaries. For their efforts, New York Newsday dubbed the Ahn Trio, "Classical Revolutionaries". As a soloist, Ms. Ahn has performed with the Honolulu Symphony, the Louisville Symphony, and the KBS Orchestra, among others. In one of her many collaborative projects, she has also performed improvisational solos with the David Parsons Dance Company.

A Juilliard Professor and a New York Philharmonic Senior Teaching Artist, Dr. David Wallace is an internationally-touring musician, a Grammy-nominated performer, an award-winning composer, and a master teaching artist. Dr. Wallace’s concert appearances include solo performances with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center and the New York Philharmonic’s School Day Concert, as well as international tours with the Teaching Artist Ensemble of the New York Philharmonic. As a composer, Dr. Wallace has received commissions from Carnegie Hall, the New York Philharmonic, the Juilliard School, violinist Rachel Barton Pine, and the Marian Anderson String Quartet. Through the New York Philharmonic’s radical Very Young Composers program, he has mentored over a hundred children whose original compositions were performed by members of the orchestra.

Please stay tuned for the start time for this event.
