Corb Lund, Sam Platts and the Kootenai Three, and Rob Lethert

Bozeman was treated to a fine trio of acts on May 16 at one of the city’s newest venues, Faultline North, as Corb Lund, Sam Platts and the Kootenai Three, and Rob Lethert put a damper on the Saturday night rain.

Bozeman area singer and guitarist Rob Lethert got the ball rolling for the enthusiastic crew onhand for the music, with Sam Platts and the Kootenai Three following up. As Lethert and Platts rolled through their sets, Faultline North kept filling up with fans enjoying live Americana music on a Saturday night. The place was pretty packed when Corb Lund and his band hit the stage around ten to add a bit of a Canadian twist to that Americana music.

Corb started the show off with a few old favorites that had the crowd singing along with him, and he performed a few new tunes from his newest recording due to be released later this year, including one that had never been performed in front of a live audience. When Corb played “Cows Around,” he explained that only Montana crowds seem to truly appreciate the song, which brought roars of agreement from the crowd.

Corb kept the house packed until the end. The acoustics at the venue certainly complemented the performance of all the musicians, and the space is big enough to allow for comfort and dancing. Corb Lund never seems to disappoint, and Faultline North has me looking forward to another show at this new venue in town.
