Top 10 Things To Do In Belgrade

Wednesday Nov. 1st, 2017

While Belgrade residents appreciate the accessibility and hospitality of our neighbors in Bozeman, we’re also proud of our own unique features right here at home.  Belgrade is a charismatic little town filled with genuine people and spirited families.  We’re proud of our stellar schools, 18 churches, 250+ businesses, winning sports teams, and most importantly—our community bond.

When we crave recreation, we typically head to the outdoors.  One of the biggest benefits of living in the heart of the Gallatin Valley is that all directions lead to greatness.  But when we just want a little dose of small town splendor, these are the top ten places we turn:

Hang at Lewis and Clark Park
Located right downtown on Main Street, this is the perfect family hot spot.  This park is complete with a playground, splash pad, and skate park.  If your timing is just right, the fire fighters next door have a habit of allowing kids to join their workouts!

Connect at Belgrade Community Library
Head on over to 2015’s Best Small Library in America.  A couple years may have passed, but we still maintain the best library around.  Stop by and check out a monthly book club meeting or a weekly story time with Mrs. Rebekah and see for yourself.

Play at Escape Room MT
Enjoy an interactive date night or group outing at the notorious Escape Room MT.  Test your wits and composure under pressure as you race the clock to connect clues and solve mysteries.  This is a one-of-a-kind experience you’ll never forget!

Shop the Belgrade Community Market
Our farmers market is located right downtown in the center of Lewis & Clark park on Thursday nights from 4-7 p.m. throughout the summer.  You can find local homemade, handmade, or homegrown goods.  Don’t miss this chance to check out our local flair!

Dine at The Mint
Originally established in 1904, The Mint Café was reopened by new owners in 2015.  Live music, savory steaks, and the infamous White Chocolate Cheesecake make this establishment a Main Street must have.  And if that isn’t enough, kids eat free on Monday evenings and Tuesday is community night (5% of sales go back to a local partner)!

Visit our Fall Festival
Join us for The Belgrade Chamber of Commerce’s annual Fall Festival.  The fireman’s cook-out follows the parade, which is traditionally led by our newest Panther cubs (a.k.a. the entire Kindergarten class from all three Belgrade Elementary Schools).  Trust me when I tell you it marches on…rain or shine.

Gather at the Festival of Lights
This winter you can be a part of the Belgrade Community Coalition’s revamped Festival of Lights.  On December 9th, the festivities will start with a 5K, followed by a pancake breakfast and the rest of the day is packed with shopping, food, culinary contests, and family entertainment.  The evening will end with a live nativity scene, Santa walk, and fireworks!

Cheer at Medina Field
Nothing says good-bye to winter like watching a high-intensity, good old-fashioned baseball game.  Medina Field houses our very own Belgrade Bandits (Belgrade Youth Baseball) from April through July.  Hit the concessions and stretch out for an afternoon with the family.

Accelerate at Gallatin Speedway
When you really want to feel a little wind in your hair, Gallatin Speedway is the place to be.  It’s a sure-fire way to relax and get your adrenaline pumping, all at once.  These family friendly races typically run June through September.

Enjoy the Belgrade Special Events Center
Check out Belgrade’s performance and event venue.  Peruse its Facebook page to find upcoming events including Panther games, plays, concerts, and fundraisers.  The SEC is just the place to find all manner of entertainment and local talent.
