Chicken Jam West has Wild Rabbit, Satsang and Polecat

Wild Rabbit (formerly Bre’re Rabbit) with special guests ‘Of Course Of Course’ will be at the Filling Station Monday April 6th.

Backyard folk seasoned by the edge, polish and fervor of big-city inclinations is at the root of Wild Rabbits distinctive style they call folk-stomp Americana. The group revamps classic string band instrumentation with homespun percussion and the unique integration of six-string ukulele and cello. The bands lively playing revolves around the trio of lead-vocalists, brothers Zach (lead guitar, vocals, kick drum + harmonica) and Nathan Hamer (ukulele, vocals + mandolin), Miranda Zickler (vocals, banjo, rhythm guitar, percussion + piano) and Jillian Walker (cello + back-up vocals).

With their widely varying influences, three distinct vocal styles and copious amounts of foot-stomping, they demonstrate a sound and presence that's at once original and familiar, appealing to audiences of all generations and genres. Voted best band in their home city of Bellingham, WA in 2013, they have quickly risen to local notoriety and now tour extensively throughout the U.S. The band recently recorded their first full-length album, The Wild North, at famed Bear Creek Studio (The Lumineers, Fleet Foxes) in Seattle, Wa
