Josh Elmore was born in Bozeman, MT in 1990 and jumped around schools from Bozeman, Belgrade and Gallatin Gateway. In 2002 he moved to Laurel, MT until finishing high school in 2008. It didn’t take long after graduating to realize that he needed to come back to clean mountain air, the beautiful town, and the amazing people.

“I have been drawing as far back as I can remember. At first I drew realistic things, mostly animals and landscapes, and was given the advice that my art would be better once I stopped using lines. I was told that I should only use shadows to distinguish between objects, which really provoked me to challenge myself.” Elmore explains. “About my senior year in high school I moved on to abstract art and graffiti. Now I have combined everything I worked on and found my own style, utilizing the flow of lines and vibrant colors to accent them. After some time I have come up with my own unique style mixing street art and abstract work with realism, putting an emphasis on the beauty in simplicity.”

Josh collects his inspiration from everything in the world, from trees and birds to events in his life. “Some artists paint to send a message, some to show emotion, others paint realist and few abstract. I send a message about my emotions, which in reality, are abstract. I would like to one day offer my style of art to the tattoo industry or go into graphic design.” says Josh.
