Big Sky On-Mountain Dining: The Black Kettle

Monday Feb. 28th, 2011

Big Sky skiers ripping the terrain of the Bowl on Lone Peak may feel they’re far from it all, but new this season, they’ll be closer than they think to delicious food served up at the Black Kettle. The new on-mountain dining option is located near the bottom of the Bowl just uphill from the Lone Peak Triple chairlift loading station.

The Black Kettle will be serving coffee and other hot & cold drinks, pastries, and a variety of snack foods from 9:00am until 4:00pm.  Lunches will be served daily with a variety of soups, chili & bread on the menu.  Black Kettle offers a convenient walk-up service window for food on the go, and warm indoor seating with exceptional views of Lone Peak.

The Black Kettle is friendly and cozy cabin and adds to the on-hill dining at Big Sky Resort. Complementing the Pinnacle Restaurant on the top of Andesite Mountain, the Shedhorn Grill The Timber’s, and Moonlight Deli located near the Iron Horse Lift, the Black Kettle will add a wonderful new aspect to on-mountain food outlets.

“We’ve got great food choices in the base area and around the mountain, and for many, the lack of crowds makes it easy to get in and out after lunch, but bringing the food service up to the big mountain skiers and riders in the Bowl is elevating the service level Big Sky prides itself on,” said Greer Schott, Public Relations Coordinator.  “What better way to complement the most amazing lift accessible ski terrain in the U.S. to offer quick, easy and delicious food for the powder glazed guests on the mountain, we couldn’t be more excited for this partnership this winter season.”
