Jesse Dayton
Jesse is a multi-talented guitarist, singer, songwriter and filmmaker who crafts a gravelly sound that blends elements of old-school country, blues, zydeco, punk, Texas swing and crunchy rock and roll. The guy is an amazing talent and a veteran performer whose story reads like a who’s who of American music. Jesse is touring in support of his brand new release, Mixtape Volume 1 (August 9, Blue Élan Records), which you can preview via Rolling Stone Country HERE. The album is a bare-knuckled manifesto that reimagines deep cuts from a variety of artists that have influenced Jesse the most, like Jackson Browne, The Cars, Gordon Lightfoot, Neil Young and AC/DC. His transformation of The Clash’s “Bankrobber” from a reggae-saturated classic into a kind of Bo Diddley shuffle was recently included in Rolling Stone Country’s list of 10 New Songs You Should Know, and No Depression describes his new album as "satisfying and fun, like sifting through a stack of records with an old friend."
