Pecha Kucha 26

5:30 PM Doors Open

6:40 PM Presentations Begin

You are encouraged to come early to socialize.
There will be a 20-minute intermission.

“From Eagle Scout to Sex Shop Owner,” “The Bible and Homosexuality,” and “How Do You Say Love in Khmer?” These thought-provoking and eclectic presentations are featured at a wide-ranging Valentine’s Day-themed Pecha Kucha night.

Pecha Kucha (peh-chak-cha) offers anyone with a passion or a vision--designers, artists, inventors, architects, adventurers, entrepreneurs—an opportunity to share their ideas with the community during a fast-paced, friendly social get-together. There's just one catch—presenters have only
20 slides x 20 seconds each, a total of 6 minutes, 40 seconds!

In his unusual take on Valentine’s Day, Billy McWilliams, proprietor of Erotique, describes his role as part pleasure enabler and part educator, Rabbi Ed Stafman offers his scholarly take on what the Bible says about homosexuality, and 23-year-old Tana Pena describes how she discovered love in Cambodia after being thrown into a totally foreign and overwhelming new world.

Other fascinating presentations include Bill Keller on “Forgotten Children: Finding Love in High Places,” about his work with severly diabled children in Nepal, wildlife biologist
Jeff Shryer on the tradeoffs he has made to live in some of the wildest places on Earth, and Melanie Maganias Nashan, who has captured hundreds of romances in her work as a wedding photographer.

Additional presentations include artists June Safford on her love for downtown Bozeman, Russell Swan on showing love through organ donation and the gift of sight; Laura Demmel will share her love affair with the world of wine, former rock star Sally Hope discusses “How to Live a Wildheart Life: Rules for Fulfillment,” and Katie Barks emphasizes the importance of nurturing a loving relationship with food.

Emcee is news anchor, auctioneer, teller of bad jokes, and local personality extraordinaire Missy O’Malley.

Pecha Kucha (sounds like chit-chat in Japanese) was created 12 years ago, by a Tokyo architectural firm. Events are now held around the world in more than 800 cities.
