Strategic Board Recruitment: Creating a Dream Team

Nearly every major study of nonprofit boards over the past two decades has identified recruitment as a significant challenge for board members and nonprofit executives. It can be challenging to find board members who care deeply about the work of the organization, who have the skills the board and organization need, and who are willing to commit the time and resources to do a good job.

In her hands-on, interactive session, Peggy Owens will help you envision your “dream team” board of directors. Participants will develop recruitment criteria and consider approaches to invite and engage new leaders for their organization. Time will be spent to craft a plan for a successful board recruitment process. Whether are currently in the recruitment process or want to get a jump start on strategies for the future, this presentation will give you the information and tools you need to create your dream team!

Peggy M. Owens, CFRE, has more than 30 years of expansive nonprofit experience. For the last eight years she has been a partner with Sage Solutions Nonprofit Consulting in strategic planning, board development and project management.
