Old Main Gallery and Framing will host the solo exhibition Allure by Michael Blessing during the month of August. You are invited to join us for an Opening Reception on Wednesday, August 9th, from 5-7pm. Allure, a modern interpretation of beauty and the female form, is the result of a longing to paint figures again with a single focus and purpose. Michael Blessing has painted commissioned portraits for clients across the country and had focused exclusively on figure painting for the first 12 years of his career in the visual arts. "It is with joy that I return to my artistic roots and have the opportunity to paint a subject I love. The female form is one of God’s most beautiful creations and what you see here is my committed effort to capture that beauty in a respectful and honest way." Michael Blessing spent his formative years in rural Montana, surrounded by the land, the people, and the experiences that small town America provides. Having discovered an inclination toward figurative painting, he favors a candid view of his modern subjects. His work has been featured in various publications, including Western Art & Architecture, Big Sky Journal, Montana Quarterly and Western Art Collector. Blessing’s paintings have won Awards of Excellence from both Western Art Collector and Southwest Art Magazine and he is the recipient of the April, 2016 BOLDBRUSH Award.
