Take Back The Night 2017: Celebration

Over 40 years ago, women began to stand up and speak out against sexual violence under the banner of Take Back the Night.  Since that time, survivors from across the globe have been coming together to raise their voices and shatter the silence, but there is still much to be accomplished in the fight to end sexual violence.  Crimes of sexual violence continue to occur in epidemic proportions. As the history of Take Back the Night continues to be written, its mission to end sexual violence for all remains a beacon of hope for the millions affected by crimes of violence. We have made great strides, but our march continues.

Take Back the Night 2017 is a collaboration of campus and community members, uniting to take a stand against violence.  Together, we can raise awareness about attitudes and policies that perpetuate violence, listen to and stand in solidarity with those who have been impacted by sexual violence, and demand an end to interpersonal violence.  This year’s Survivor Speak-Out, Take Back the Night Rally, March, and Celebration provide us the opportunity to support one another, share our stories, and raise our collective voices against violence.  All events are FREE and everyone is welcome.
