Charlie Russell 50 Years of Living with The Great Bears

MOSS is proud to truly proud to present Charlie Russell, in person, at the Museum of the Rockies Saturday, April 25th, 2014 at 7:00pm

This event is free! Don't miss out on this once in a lifetime experience!

Charlie Russell is coming to Bozeman to discuss how we might live even better than we do with grizzly bears. He would like people to observe how in many places now, grizzlies are slowly showing us how they can adapt to getting along with us and that they can live closely with us. There will be suggestions as to how protect livestock and how best we should behave around bears to be safe with them.

Russell's main research was done in Russia where he spent 10 years living with hundreds of brown bear who's only experience with humans was that of building trust instead of our usual responses towards bears: that of people fearing bears and needing from them the fear of us in return.

The trust that is possible with grizzly bears is illustrated spectacularly with multimedia, but the take-away message is that we can not be completely safe around these wonderful animals unless we treat them well.
