Trail Maintenance: HELP

Friday Apr. 8th, 2011

Mud season is upon us and our community trail system is emerging from the icy grip of winter. We need everyone’s help in assessing any hazards, safety issues, or maintenance needs that may be emerging with the spring thaw. Here are some ideas for things to look for: missing or broken boards on bridges, erosion channels in the trail, down trees or low branches, missing or damaged signs, graffiti, broken benches, weed infestations, mud holes, trash, etc. GVLT will work with the City Parks Department and our adopt-a-trail groups to get the trails back in shape for a summer of fun recreational activities. Think safety and keep an eye out for hazards! Email your observations and trail maintenance needs to gary@gvlt.org.
